WHY THE DSAT TEC DEEP COURSE
The DSAT Tec-Deep course takes you past the recreational diving limits and immerses you in the world of technical diving. The DSAT Tec-Deep course is the most unique, challenging and comprehensive tec diver training course in the dive industry. Compared to other technical diver training in the industry, DSAT offers a fully comprehensive technical diving course that takes an accumulative approach to various separate technical diver training which may include Advanced Nitrox use, decompression procedures and extending no-decompression limits using multiple gases.
A CERTIFIED DSAT LEVEL 1 TEC DIVER CAN..
Plan and conduct technical no-decompression and gas management dives using the latest decompression software and DSAT materials available.
Conduct gas-switch extended no-decompression dives.
Conduct dives to a depth of 40m using air & enriched air up to 60% oxygen.
Be prepared to handle reasonable foreseeable technical diving emergencies.
Understand the hazards and risks involved in technical diving.
(The course can be done in 4 days, however we find having an extra day for a little relaxation is more comfortable.)
A CERTIFIED DSAT LEVEL 2 TEC DEEP DIVER CAN ADDITIONALLY...
Plan and conduct technical decompression and gas management dives using the latest decompression.
Conduct gas-switch for decompression diving requiring accelerated decompression.
Conduct dives to a depth of 50m using air, enriched air (up to 100% oxygen).
(The course can be done in 3 days, however we find having an extra day for a little relaxation is more comfortable here as well.)
WHAT ARE THE PREREQUISITES FOR THE TEC DEEP COURSE?
PADI Rescue Diver *
PADI Enriched Air Diver *
PADI Deep Diver *
18 Years of age
Have a minimum of 100 logged dives of which 20 dives must be enriched air dives, 25 dives must be deeper than 18 meters and 15 dives deeper than 30 meters.
* (Equivalent certifications from other organizations for the above mentioned prerequisites are also accepted)

WHERE ARE THE DIVES FOR THE TEC COURSE DONE?
The DSAT Tec-Deep course is conducted only from Koh Lanta in Thailand. The course has 12 training dives. Dives 1-3 are conducted in what we call limited open water; being either a large pool at least 3 meters deep or a bay or beach where deep water is available to a maximum depth of 10 meters.
Tec-Deep training dives 4-8 are all extended no-decompression dives although we conduct simulated Decompression.
Most of these dives are done at Koh Haa. This group of five islands (Koh Haa) is only a 2 hour journey from Koh Lanta and has a great variety of walls and abundant coral life. Depths of 45 meters can be easily reached here.
The Tec-Deep training dives 9 and 10 may also be conducted at Koh Haa. However training dives 11 and 12 are conducted at a depth of 50m, no other reef is more perfect than the deep pinnacles of Hin Daeng or Hin Muang. Situated due south from Lanta, a 3 and a half hour journey from Lanta... you won't be disappointed. Hin Muang is a Pinnacle that starts 12 meters below the surface and drops down to at least 70 meters. The pinnacle itself is over 250 meters long and is a magnet for Manta Rays and Whale sharks.
