The IDC on Koh Lanta
is different from any other location in
Thailand. Koh Lanta is a very
relaxed island; where you can find everything you need within close
reach. It provides the perfect setting for an IDC program requiring
your full attention. To pursue your, as well as our goals, we limit
the candidate/staff ratio to 4:1, although PADI IDC Standards allow
a ratio as high as 8:1.
Koh Lanta is easily
reached from Phuket, Krabi and Phi Phi. Koh Lanta is part of the
Thai
National
Park and is kept remote
and free from mass tourism and tour density experienced in Phuket
and Phi Phi. This makes Koh Lanta the perfect location for an
Instructor Development Course. On Koh Lanta there are no
distractions, the atmosphere is very relaxed and gives you the
feeling that you are on a beautiful and tropical island….. not a
city on an island that is too developed that is humming
with mass tourism.
The climate on Koh
Lanta is generally 30 degrees Celsius, the water is between 28 – 30
degrees Celsius with a visibility of 20-30m average. The
Island has a number of
private beaches with private bungalows surrounded by palm trees. Koh
Lanta has everything to offer from simple bungalows to five star
resorts and spa’s. There is only 1 main road on Koh Lanta, the
largest village is called Saladan and is situated at the most
Northern part of the island. Koh Lanta has a remarkable selection of
different restaurants and beach bars all facing west for the most
breathtaking sunsets.

The only Dive
Center
in Thailand offering a part of the IDC on a liveaboard dive trip
dedicated solely to IDC candidates. One of the factors for
successful completion of an IDC is the right location, atmosphere and surroundings that allow you to study
and absorb the course material with as little stress and distraction
as possible.
The 3 day trip you will participate in
onboard the will be a private trip - there will be no other
customers onboard. The Mariner can take a maximum of 20 divers, so
there is ample space available for quiet periods of self study,
either in the open air dining area, the semi-covered sundeck or in
the privacy of your air-conditioned cabin. We also have
a video, TV and computer onboard, enabling your Course Director
to give lectures and classroom tuition whilst at
sea.
But surely one of the best features is that when
you are not studying or attending classes you can take a refreshing
swim straight off the boat or go for a snorkel on the coastal
reefs. And of course we can not miss the opportunity of a few fun
dives – we will schedule an early morning dive before breakfast, a
lovely way to wake up, and also to remind you why you are
taking this step to become a PADI Instructor in the first place: in
order to allow future divers the chance of diving some of the
world’s best underwater areas, such as the Similan Islands.
Additional dives may be scheduled at the Course Directors
discretion.

Two Fish Divers
Bunaken - is a small and friendly PADI Gold Palm IDC dive
resort that is located on Bunaken
Island, Manado, North Sualwesi. We are based right in
the heart of the world famous Bunaken Marine
Park, and this offers some of the best diving in
Indonesia with beautiful corals,
lots of fish, amazing small critters, and some larger fish such as
reef shark, turtles and barracuda.
The beach-front dive
resort is run by European PADI Instructors, and with only 7 wooden
cottages, 2 beach rooms and 2 budget cottages we only cater for
20-22 divers, so we offer an un-crowded and flexible dive
holiday
Two Fish Lembeh - we now have a small
resort on Lembeh Island, right in the middle of
the Lembeh Straits. Bunaken and Lembeh
are only 2-3 hours apart, so you can
dive two special areas with one dive

reefs of Bunaken
Marine
Park and hunting for amazing

The IDC programs is conducted on Bunaken and Lembeh Island. PADI Specialty Instructor
courses is done mostly in the

THE LONG
VERSION....
Brendon started diving in 1996 in his home country of
South
Africa doing in-land altitude diving in local
lakes, quarries and flooded mines. Immediately addicted to
diving he started to travel to find some of the best
dive sites the world has to
offer.
During his continuing education to reach his PADI
Divemaster certification he experienced diving in the
Southern, western and eastern coastline of South
Africa, explored the remote coastline of
Mozambique
and the beautiful
Comors and Maldives islands in the Indian
Ocean.
In 1998 Brendon became a PADI Instructor and Master Scuba Diver
Trainer. Since
then Brendon has been teaching full time as a diver educator in many
countries including South Africa, Mozambique, Turkey, Thailand
and Malaysia. Diving and teaching is not just his job, it's his
life, his passion. Brendon has certified over 1,000 student
divers and PADI Instructors as professional diver educator has has
over 4,000 dives experience.
With years of shark diving
experience and research, Brendon personally created his own material
and outline for the PADI Shark Awareness Specialty
Course and has
had it approved by PADI's stringent evaluation process. The PADI
Shark Awareness course is now a distinctive PADI non-diving
certification that only Brendon can teach, even up to the instructor
level and issue PADI certification.
Based now in Thailand for the last 6 years,
Brendon is a full time PADI Course Director conducting Instructor
Development Courses in the South of Thailand on the west
coast. Brendon is dedicated to giving the best of quality and
professional diver training. Brendon also offers full
Tec diving courses with DSAT. .
Brendon is also very unique in the sense
that he still loves diving, as some Course Directors build
a reputation that they no longer do any "REAL" diving. Most
Course Directors in the industry will limit their training to only
instructor level
courses, not
Brendon, he still enjoys teaching all levels of
PADI courses from Open water diver levels and at times even
Discover Scuba Diving introductions. In order to teach others
how to instruct diving, one must never loose touch with what we hope
to accomplish, that's to turn out safe and reliable
PADI Instructors. The best way to do that is to be
part of all aspects of diver training, and not just
professional levels.
Anybody who has spent some time with us at Lanta Diver
will remember the tall blond (and many times mistaken as Swedish),
incredibly enthusiastic and dedicated instructor with the huge
smile. We now sleep well at night knowing that Brendon with his
experience and professionalism is in charge of our Instructor
Development and Tec Diver
courses.
